About

So, what’s this website/blog all about?

I would eventually like this website to be a resource for individuals with ASD looking for employment, employers/managers who work with individuals with ASD, and employers who are interested in doing so. I’m not sure, however, what resources would be useful for you all. So, in the meantime, I will post information that I think might be helpful. Please let me know if there is anything specific you would like to know more about!

And who am I?

Well, this website is not about me, but in case you find it relevant, here’s my motivation. I am a graduate student in Human Resource Development (HRD) and I specialize in adults with ASD in the workplace. When I say I “specialize” in it, I mean, I have a deep interest in it, but there’s not a great deal of information available about it to study. So, you all are helping me a great deal by engaging with this website and with me, so please, if you have a spare moment, communicate with me!

I also have 2 young sons, one of whom is autistic. After many years working in the technology sector, my initial specialty was the use of technology in training. Then my son was diagnosed and my perspective on everything has changed. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What are my research interests?

As I mentioned above, my first interest (and most of my working experience) was in technology. So, my main research interest is individuals with ASD in the technology sector. I recognize that not all individuals with ASD are compatible with jobs in the technology sector and that there are jobs available in all sorts of sectors that are of interest to people with ASD. So, I will try to be broad with the information I present in this website, but please excuse me if the articles start skewing towards technology. =)
